Inexplicably
dropped by Too Pure, Billy Mahonie still know how to rock
(in a post-rock instrumental kind of way).
Why are
you doing this?
Gavin Baker: Self expression,
the fun, the intensity we feel when we play.
Howard Monk: What am I doing?
What
is the best dream you ever had?
Gavin Baker: One i had as a
child when dinosaurs attacked my parents house from the
back garden.
Howard Monk: My teeth all fell
out (big meaning behind it). There was one once when I played
for Rochdale in a real match...
What question
do you hate to be asked and what's the answer?
Gavin Baker: What are you thinking?
There is no answer I'd like to give, it's just a case of
avoiding the question in the first place.
Howard Monk: This one, this
one.
Describe
your most rock n roll experience.
Gavin Baker: Drinking
in the Elephant's Head in Camden. I also threw up in my
sleep once
Howard Monk: Boat home from
Norway was rocking and rolling all through the night...very
scary.
Who
is the coolest person in the band and why?
Gavin Baker: Hywell as
he never gets angrey (well once in two and a half years
is pretty good)
Howard Monk: Me, because.
What's
the last record you regret buying?
Gavin Baker: I never
regret buying a record. Even a bad record can affect an
emotion out of you I have brought a few shite records though:
Led Zep Four is bollocks and TNT by Tortoise is lame lift
music (but i never actually bought it)
Howard Monk: I don't
really buy records, unless I'm sure I won't regret it. There
are quite a few I shouldn't have bothered blagging though...
How
would you like to die?
Gavin Baker: In the countryside
and with no one watching me.
Howard Monk: peacefully, in
my sleep
What
is the best thing you've ever seen (non-musical...)?
Gavin Baker: My nephew Koh
Baker
Howard Monk: Rochdale playing
at Old Trafford, Anfield, etc... (there are many other things
too though. Firework displays. films. beautiful women. a
turtle swam past me while surfing in sri lanka (this happened
many times).
